  • An electric pot (slow cooker).

How to prepare homemade calendula cream:

  1. Put the dry calendula flowers in a jar. Pour over the olive oil and close the jar. Mix the jar very well. Leave the mixture in the jar 2 weeks. The oil has to become yellow.
  2. If you don’t have time to keep the flowers in oil for 2 weeks, there is a faster method to obtain a similar result. Pour the calendula flowers and oil in the electric pot (slow cooker) and let them to boil for 3 hours.
  3. Pour the mixture over a piece of gauze over a bowl that is secured with a rubber elastic. Using a spoon, press the mixture so it drains into the bowl.  If you move too quickly, the oil will flow on the sides, so be patient.
  4. Pour the strained oil into a pot, on low heat. Add the beeswax and mix until the composition gets smooth. Then, pour the lavender essential oil and mix again.
  5.  Put the obtained cream in a clean recipient. Leave it uncovered until the cream gets cold. After that, cover the recipient. And your homemade calendula cream is ready for use! Keep it in a dry place, away from sun. The cream is good for use for one year.
